A 10.67-inch rainfall deficit in Asheville is raising alarms about potential wildfires as the region enters spring, according to WLOS. The prolonged dry spell has created conditions ripe for fire.
Asheville last saw above-average rainfall in August 2025, WLOS reports. Since September 2025, the area has consistently recorded below-normal rainfall. November and December each saw deficits of approximately three inches, and the cumulative effect has led to the current substantial shortage.
