According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, the Asheville-Buncombe County Economic Development Council (ABCCEDC) has announced a $50 million public-private partnership to expand the Asheville Innovation District tech park. The project aims to attract 1,000 new high-tech jobs to the region over the next five years. This initiative is designed to diversify the regional economy, which currently relies heavily on tourism.
