Even as Asheville city leaders brace for cuts to community services, Buncombe County is planning to expand local government services in the coming fiscal year. The contrasting approaches to government spending emerged during recent budget work sessions held by the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners and the Asheville City Council, according to Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR).
