A year and a half after Hurricane Helene, Buncombe County is working to rebuild its tourism industry. New funding and promotional efforts are expected to aid in the recovery, though challenges remain.
"We are really hopeful for not just a comeback, but rebounding and propelling the visitor economy and creative economy," said Vic Isley, president and CEO of Explore Asheville. The Buncombe County Department of Tourism aims to grow the area's tourism sector as part of the recovery process.
