North Buncombe High School's boys tennis team overcame a slow start to defeat Asheville High 5-2 in their Mountain Athletic Conference opener Monday afternoon. The match, held at Asheville High's tennis courts, marked the beginning of the conference season for both teams, according to the Asheville Citizen-Times. The Black Hawks (1-0) dropped the first two singles matches before winning the next four and sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the victory. Asheville High now stands at 0-1.
